Martha stepped out of the TARDIS, the hot sun hitting her face.
As she shut the door, and walked away, she stroll through the park, were they had landed, people were talking, and laughing, and children were riding bikes and walking their dogs, an old couple, sat on an old bench, the man deep asleep, and the women, attempting a crossword puzzle in the newspaper. It was strange how, a few trips in the TARDIS, could make ordinary life, so alien. She wasnt use to normality, because she had seen things that ordinary humans would have never have imagined.
She guessed that this was the sacrifice of giving up the Doctor, and that she could no longer, go anywhere in history, and see anything, and all that she had to look forward to was her, medical studies, or her mums Sunday roast, never able to be afraid, and having near-death experiences, and wonder if she was about to take her last breath, she wondered, if she would ever get used to living a normal life, if she could ever get back to living how she did, before the Doctor, and before she saw the whole of time and space.
She walked past a tree, a huge, oak tree, with pink blossom, all over it she was sure she had seen the tree before, the Doctor never asked about her family, he never really thought of anybody normal, but, neither did she, in the TARDIS, she found, she became, obsessed with travelling, and didnt think of anything else, not even her family, even if they missed her, or needed her, when did, she even last see them? It could have been months, years, or just a few days, she also found that the TARDIS, made her timeless, she didnt think about Christmas, or Easter or her mums birthday, she just forgot them, like she knew they existed but she didnt want to know.
The Doctor had just left, she walked out and he had gone, he never stopped to think, never came running, he just disappeared, Martha swore she wouldnt let curiosity take her over, but she touched the TARDIS panel, and had got whisked away, to this place, she admitted that she was in the wrong, but it was a little unfair, that he just went off without her, she knew hed probably replace her, like he did the girl before her
Rose! Martha was left wondering about her, the Doctor had never gone into details, she knew that something happened to her, to split them up, but even that part wasnt exactly clear, she had seen a picture of her in John Smiths diary, she did look beautiful, no wonder the Doctor didnt take an interest in her, that was one of the reasons, too, she had got sick of him comparing her to Rose, she walked away, taking one last look, as the TARDIS engines whirred, and fading, with its bright light travelling further and further away.
The Doctors mind was a blur, his thoughts, scattered around, he had overreacted, he shouldnt have left Martha alone, a sudden shot of guilt hit him, as he remembered the way he yelled at Martha, when she had touched the controls, he had just left her, how would she cope, if she didnt know what time or place she was in, it could have been some deserted planet, buried amongst the stars. She hadnt have done it, but that wasnt what he needed to concentrate on, he knew exactly were he was, why did it have to be here, out of all of time and space, the one place he knew, he could never come
